the Physical Committee

The Physical Well-being Committee is one of five teams taking part in The Well-being Initiative, a project set to improve all five key areas of well-being in Kosciusko County.


The Project:

Imagine if healthy choices were the easy choices to make in Kosciusko County. What would that look like?  


The Physical Well-being Committee is working to develop free physical activity opportunities for families in Kosciusko County. Families will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of challenges that can be done as the weather gets colder. 


Programs for Kosciusko County Employers

We are happy to come alongside your organization to bring health and well-being programs to your workplace. A wide variety of programs are available. 


Creating a Culture of Health

Program Overview:

  • A Culture of Health programming focuses on the well-being of employees, consumers, community, and the environment to achieve the overarching goal of a healthier population
  • Includes programs for employers to implement best practices into their organization

  • Reduce costs related to sick days and injuries
  • Create a healthier workforce and more disposable income that can be put into the community
  • Enhance views held by employees and consumers

The Well-being Initiative

 

Program Overview:

  • Bring The Well-being Initiative to your organization! Receive resources to increase the physical, financial, social, career + purpose, and community well-being of your employees. 

Employer Gold Standard

Program Overview:

The Employer Gold Standard of Cancer Care program is a free initiative designed to help companies create a healthier workplace and support employees affected by cancer. By participating, your organization can 

  • gain recognition, 
  • receive free technical assistance

The program offers a step-by-step process to implement best practices, with opportunities for awards and visibility through various media channels. It's a valuable way to showcase your commitment to health and wellness while making a positive impact on your team.

Tobacco Prevention and Cessation

 Program Overview:

  • The CDC notes tobacco use as "the leading cause for preventable death in the United States"
  • The healthcare costs associated with tobacco use are over $2 Billion and increase expenses for employers
  • Equips employers with the tools to create smoke-free workplaces and encourage employees who utilize tobacco to quit

Benefits:

  • Proven fewer sick days for people who do not use tobacco, meaning more productive work days.
  • Large reduction in healthcare expenses

Workforce Recovery

Program Overview:

  

  • Workforce Recovery is a free and voluntary initiative designed to help employers retain their workforce and support those affected by substance misuse and untreated substance use disorders.
  • The 2018 House Enrolled Act 1007 gives employers the necessary tools to adopt a second-chance system that seeks restorative solutions for employees who tests positive on an alcohol or drug test.

  • Support employees on their path to recovery and avoid losses in company knowledge, continuity and productivity. 
  • Save money when it comes to health care costs, including hospital and emergency room use, ambulatory care and primary medical care.
